What Trial AI hears in Taiwan
Civil, Criminal, Intellectual property, Commercial, Administrative — all run as full mock trials, each routed to the court that would actually hear it here.
Civil
Disputes between private parties over money, promises, property and harm.
- Contract disputes
- Tort and personal injury
- Property disputes
- Labour and employment
- Family law
Heard by
District Court — small-claims, summary or ordinary proceedings by value
Small claims at or under NT$100,000 (CCP §436-8). Labour matters go to the labour division under the Labour Incidents Act.
What Trial AI gives you here
- Liability and quantum analysed separately, so you know which one is weak
- A written judgment showing which head of loss survives and which does not
- A demand letter you can send before spending anything on filing
- A settlement range, and the argument the other side is most likely to run
Worked examples
The deposit the landlord kept
NT$ 66,000A Taipei tenant moved out with photos of an undamaged flat; the landlord kept the two-month deposit citing "wear".
A full mock trial, a judgment in the 主文-first Taiwan format, and a demand letter citing the tenancy terms — before spending NT$1,000 on the real filing.
The renovation that stopped halfway
NT$ 480,000A Taichung homeowner paid 60% up front; the contractor stopped answering with the bathroom half-tiled.
The panel split on whether to claim the refund or the completion cost — and the judgment showed why the completion cost was the stronger claim.
Twenty-two case types across five categories. If your dispute does not fit neatly, describe it in your own words and the assistant will place it.
How a case becomes a court-result simulation
Trial AI is not ordinary chat. It puts the case through a simulated trial flow where plaintiff counsel, defendant counsel, and judge roles test each other before producing a court-result preview.

Reasons, risk, and next steps
A money claim in Taiwan, cheapest step first
This is the path a money claim takes. Criminal, IP, commercial and administrative matters follow their own routes to the courts above — Trial AI prepares each of them the same way.
Demand letter (催告函)
A letter that names the obligation, the amount and a deadline. It costs nothing to send and it is what most opponents actually respond to.
Postage only
Payment order (支付命令)
For a debt the other side cannot really dispute: the court issues it without a hearing, and the debtor has 20 days from service to object. If they do, it converts to ordinary proceedings — so it saves most where the debtor is unlikely to answer.
CCP §508, §514
Court mediation (法院調解)
Not optional. For property disputes at or under NT$500,000 the law requires mediation before an action may be brought — which covers every small claim. Going in with your argument already tested is the whole advantage.
Required by CCP §403
Small claims (小額訴訟)
NT$1,000 for a claim at or under NT$100,000. Sessions may be held at night or on a rest day unless a party objects, and the appeal that follows reviews legal error only — the second-instance decision is final.
NT$1,000 · CCP §77-13
After court simulation, generate a lawyer-letter draft
The system uses the simulated verdict, user role, and strongest strategy to draft a plaintiff-side or defendant-side lawyer letter that can be downloaded and reviewed by a real lawyer.
1. Read simulated verdict
Use risk, issues, and remedy direction.
2. Choose role and language
Draft for plaintiff or defendant in the chosen language.
3. Strengthen the claim
Demand compensation, injunctions, denial, or settlement terms.
4. Download for lawyer review
DOCX / PDF drafts can be edited and issued by counsel.

What people ask about Taiwan
Yes, for a property dispute at or under NT$500,000 — which includes every small claim. Article 403 of the Code of Civil Procedure makes court mediation a precondition to bringing the action, so the question is not whether you mediate but how well prepared you are when you do.
